Frequently Asked Questions
How long do I need to be in therapy?
The length of therapy truly depends on the individual's presenting concerns, diagnoses, goals, and treatment progress. Some people come to therapy for just a short time, such as a few months. Others are looking for and needing more long-term support and are interested in remaining with a consistent provider for a number of years. We will work with you to customize your care and treatment plan.
When are sessions provided?
Sessions are provided Monday through Friday. At this time, we do not offer regular weekend sessions. However, there are times in which we can schedule a specific meal prep or family meal on a weekend, if needed. Please reach out for scheduling details. Times of sessions vary depending on availability.
Do you accept insurance?
Overall, we accept limited insurances. Dr. Kerri is paneled with Aenta and can accept this insurance for therapy/EMDR sessions. As a registered mental health counselor intern, Kate cannot accept insurance at this time.
Otherwise, we can provide a superbill for services rendered, which is basically an itemized receipt that can be submitted to insurance for possible reimbursement.
Do you provide virtual counseling?
We provide in-person sessions in our downtown Orlando office. It's truly a cozy, warm, and inviting space. We provide a relaxing waiting room area, coffee/drink station, and snacks. We have ample natural lighting, and we do our very best to ensure your comfort.
In addition to this in-person option, we do also provide virtual video sessions. Virtual sessions are through a HIPAA secure platform. You will receive a one-time use link for our session. We do ask that virtual sessions be conducted in a safe place. If you are driving or highly distracted during a virtual session, we will ask that you log off and come back when you are in a safe place. If the session is unable to occur due to driving, the full fee will still be charged.

Do you provide nutrition services outside of Florida?
Kate Albarella is a registered dietitian licensed in the states of Florida and North Carolina. For dietitians, some states have licensure while other states choose to have certification. Some states have very little regulation around the field of nutrition and dietetics. Kate can provide nutrition services to those within FL and NC and the states that have less regulation requirements. For more information please see the CDR state licensure map: https://www.cdrnet.org/LicensureMap
Do you treat anything other than eating disorders?
Absolutely! While both Kate and Dr. Kerri specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, we also provide counseling services to those with other concerns. If we feel that we are not the best fit for you based on your presenting concern, we will be honest with you, and we will do our best to find a provider that is a better fit for your needs.
Do you provide reduced rates for those in financial need?
Dr. Kerri and Kate both provide a limited number of reduced rate spots for those who are in financial need. Availability for these spots depends on whether or not the spots are filled already. If you are in a financial need spot and your financial situation improves, we do ask that you inform us so that we can provide these spots to those on the waiting list. Financial need is re-evaluated on an annual basis.
Can I bring my dog to session with me?
We are inclusive, and that means pets, too! You are more than welcome to bring your pet to our office. However, we do ask that you notify us ahead of time, as Petunia does come to the office some days. And honestly, she prefers to be the center of attention. Learn more about Petunia on our "About Us" page.
